Amazing how little you get done with nothing to do isn't it? i keep meaning to post and then putting it off to the next morning (which is kinda hard to do since i don't really wake up during what is technically called "morning"). there will be more from me soon, im not gonna give up on this yet, so please bear with me. i just still haven't settled into a schedule/rhythm for this summer yet.
In terms of actually putting up something worth reading, i give to you my favorite car that nobody has ever heard of-
This is the Saab Sonett. It is a little two seater sports car that was built by saab in the late 60's/early 70's. This specifically is a Sonett III (i believe it is a 1970, but it could be a '71/'72 as well). The Sonett III was in production from 1970 until 1974, when the oil crisis killed it. i have wanted one of these quirky little cars since i first saw one. And believe me, they are quirky (typical saab)- it is front wheel drive, the body is made of fiberglass, it runs on a little tiny 65hp V4 ford engine, and it has a freewheeling clutch. If you want to know more, i have included the wiki articles for both the sonett and the freewheeling clutch.
Thanks for Reading (and i promise there will be more material soon)

ReplyDeleteCool car.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the posting stuff. MY posts have gone from paragraphs, to sentences, to phrases over the last two months. But, blogging is fun so why not?
Interesting blog, though you need a better template. Try btemplates.com or something. You'll find something you like and your archive will be readable!
this looks cool. is it really rare because i have never seen one of these?
ReplyDeletenazz - i guess you could say they are uncommon (rare in the car world is usually something in the low triple digits). there were roughly 10,000 or so of the sonett III's made, something like 8,000 or so of the sonett II/V4 and 6 of the original Sonett's (all 6 of these were considered "prototypes")
ReplyDeleteYour right I have never heard of this car before.
ReplyDeleteYeah I have the same feeling, I can never get around to posting, but you have to fight man.
